Well, with e-books, just about anybody can get anything "out there". How did you write a book? That's a different story.
People often tell me that they have been thinking about an idea for "awhile"; a plot for a story, or maybe an old family story, or about a family member they admire. When I ask how long is "awhile", they sometimes say for several years. But they just haven't had time to do anything about it.
First of all, you don't have to have time to write. Take it from me. Sometimes when you have too much time, it hinders your writing since you know you have all the time in the world. Second, you have to START. Just start. Just write something. Something will lead to something else; one sentence to the next.
Some people make an outline of their book and then use that as a guide. If that works, more power to you. It doesn't work for me. I get bored with the outline. But it sounds like it would be a real help. It should work. So, try doing that and see if it works for you.
Some people say write about what you know. That makes total sense to me. You can put a stamp of authenticity to a subject and, just because it is commonplace to you doesn't mean that it doesn't have a niche. It's all in the writing of it. If you can write well, it will have an interesting flow.
But first, last, and always, pray about it. If it is something God wants you to do, then THAT'S the reason you've had this idea for "awhile". He keeps nudging you with it, He wants the story told. Pray about it and ask Him. Ask Him to help you do it. Then, write it the way it feels right to you. If you are writing in His will, you will know it.
Then, if you are writing for Him, then write. No matter what. No matter if anyone reads it, or if anyone likes it when they do read it. Maybe the writing of it is how He is talking to you. Maybe the act of writing is what He wants for you.
That was what it was for me for a LLLOOONNNGG time. And, even now, the actual act of writing is the fun part for me.
No matter if it gets read or not.
